The book is a MATTM textbook for studying chapters 19-21 of the second tantra of the root text of Tibetan medicine Four Tantras.

The first part of the textbook contains the original text of the treatise bDdud rtsi snying po yan lag brgyad pa gsang ba man ngag gi rgyud ces bya ba bzhugs so (The Four Tantras), written by the great physician, founder of Tibetan medicine, Yuthog Yonten Gonpo in Tibetan, and its translation by A.V. Teplyakova.

The second, rather extensive part of the book, is a detailed description of each of the medicinal components mentioned in the studied chapters of Four Tantras. The basis for this handbook is the work of Andrei Aleksandrovich Kosoburov "Encyclopedia of Tibetan Medicinal Raw Materials". Separately highlighted dietary terms, that is, the names of food and processing methods found in recipes. Two articles are devoted to groups of drugs - on their action and on the use of special designations in prescriptions.

The third part contains appendices: tables and information about the action of drugs based on their tastes, strengths and qualities, about terminology, transliteration and A. Kosoburov's article on Tibetan measures of weight and volume.
